In felt cowboy hats, the “X” rating is used to indicate the quality and composition of the felt. Generally, a higher X means a greater percentage of premium fur, a finer finish, improved durability, and better shape retention. Lower X hats may include more wool, while higher X hats typically use more rabbit or beaver fur, with our 100X representing the highest quality felt we offer.

  • Make sure you have your hat size or head measurements (in inches or Centimeters) Start with a measuring tape (or a piece of string you can measure later), and wrap it around your head, placing it where your hat will sit- typically, at the middle of your forehead, right above the eyebrown and your ear. Hold the tape firmly, but not uncomfortably tight. Find your size on this chart:
