ABOUT OUR NOELANI PRINT

Translating to mean ‘Heavenly Mist,’ Noelani is a rain-inspired collection created to honor my mother, Natalie Noelani.

Inspired by the mist that settles in Waimea, our Kauhiwailani print signifies the progression of Legacy. By fusing the natural, traditional flow of gradient color with a modern approach to expressing falling mist through graphic design, I blend generations, both old and new. These layers of design respectfully represent my great-grandmother, Angeline Kauhiwai, and my beautiful Niece, who I dedicate this print to, Kauhiwailani.

It is my hope that by drawing inspiration from my mother’s grandmother, daughter and granddaughter, and infusing them within this print, I can truly honor her, her name and her legacy.

Inspired by the grace and sass of his favorite hula dancers, Chaz Kamauu debuts Hula Tease, a legacy-inspired clothing line designed to accentuate and compliment a hula dancerʻs every move. Drawing inspiration from his 2 Kumu Hula grandmothers, Hoakalei Kamauu and Olana Ai, he finds balance in his designs that feature a fresh blend of both geometric and floral elements. His clothing is sweet, yet sassy. Graceful, yet powerful. Elegant, yet demanding.
